What's going to be hot for 2012?
Recycling and re-using everyday items is going to become more popular in 2012. In this economic climate we're finding more ways to save money and recycling is one way of tapping into your creative side and make something from things that would end up on the scrap heap, costing you nothing!
More people are starting to use die cutting machines i.e the Big Shot or the Grand Calibur and using bottle tops crushed/flattened or die cutting foil and fabrics is going to be a big part of the recycling crafting revolution. How about recycling your Christmas cards by making new toppers using your dies, for next year's cards.
Mixed media and altered art is growing in the mainstream, due to the availability of the products and the wide variation of choice. The old shabby Victorian influence will continue to grow, maybe not all just steampunk but rather more elegant Victorian designs.
The use of texture is becoming more popular too, using fabric or felt in your card making and scrabooking projects.
I think Memory Box dies are going to take a flyer and go massive this year. I certainly want some.
Also Indigo Blu's Flitter glue and guilding flakes are probably on the top of most crafter's shopping list this year.
The Card Gallery is a collection of some of my card makes, using Molly Blooms, Gojuss and Lili of the Valley stamps. I'm a big fan of using Ranger Glossy Accents, Distress Inks, charms and embossing powders. Lately I've been getting more interested in making grungy cards. I'll update my latest makes when I can.
